I’ve never been one to really take an objective stance on anything. It’s much easier to just fangirl over something and love it in spite of its flaws. So, it really wasn’t until I saw this Chuck Norris WoW commercial on TV a few days ago that I realized how dated WoW really looks.

It just looks bland, like a free-to-play game. There’s nothing wrong with free-to-play games, of course, but I just mean that it looks seriously low budget. It looks less like an impressive Blizzard game and more like an “Anybody Could Make That” title.

Is it weird that it kind of made me sad to think that? I don’t really have any plans to go back to WoW now that I’ve got SWTOR as my new fallback, but it was kind of like losing something special. It’s strange not having a little magic left for WoW. But, I guess we all grow up a little everyday, don’t we?

About Amanda

Amanda is a 20-something flailing gamer. While she loves MMORPGs, the company in them often triggers flare-ups of her social anxiety. Her all-time favorite games include Everquest Online Adventures, Eternal Sonata, the Animal Crossing series, Katamari Damacy, and Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure. She lives on junk food, and her favorite books are equally trashy. She doesn't believe in putting two spaces after a period, but she does strongly believe in the serial comma. Unfortunately, she has a penchant for starting sentences with "and" and "but;" hopefully you won't hold that, or her excessive use of semicolons, against her.
